Top Tips To Rank Your Website Higher On Google

In today’s day and age, the internet is far too great a resource for most businesses to ignore. One of the most cost effective ways to utilize the internet is to improve your search engine ranking.

Whilst hiring a professional is the most efficient way to improve your ranking, there are a few simple undertakings we can perform ourselves to boost our rankings:

1: Free directories.

Free directories are an excellent way of creating back links to your website! Not only will your search engine ranking improve but you may also source new clientele from the directories themselves. Quality here is key, trusted sites such as yellow pages, true local, accountant list etc can do wonders for your site, but disregard overseas directories as Australian domains will derive little to no benefit from non Australian back links.

2: Blog.

Google places a high level of importance on fresh content. By consistently creating key word rich content for your site, you can be assured your SEO rankings will improve. Conservative use of key words is a necessity here and spamming of key words may incur penalties from Google. Incorporate your key words into your blog in a natural manner, (ie “many accountants in Melbourne will benefit from… etc”) to obtain the greatest SEO benefit from blogging.

3: Content.

Search engines love content! To ensure your search engine rankings are as high as possible, try to have at least 300 words on each page of your website, (with relevant key word headings for each ie “Taxation,” “Small to Medium Entities,” “Accounting” etal).

4: Social Media.

Twitter, Facebook, Google plus are all free ways to improve your SEO ranking. By spending a small amount of time each week, you can improve your search engine ranking with the added bonus of diverting additional traffic to your website. Google plus also has the further benefit of listing your business on Google places (ie searching for Accountant South Yarra, should bring your business up on an illustrative map).
